ink. today is made by ink. interactive (abn 64 761 438 631), melbourne. this page says what it keeps and why.

signing in.
google shares your name, email address and a google account id. we use them to keep your list yours. google's reply passes through a small relay on cloudflare that forwards only the one-time sign-in code and keeps nothing.
if you try it without signing in, we keep no name or email. a cookie on this device opens your list. if you don't come back for 60 days, the list is deleted. sign in later and your list moves into your account.
gmail, if you connect it.
read-only. ink. today searches the last 30 days, then new email every hour, for emails from the school senders shown in settings, and for bills, renewals, appointments and bookings, things to sign, parcels to collect and returns, tickets and flights, things that expire, letters from government (such as the ato or vicroads), deliveries you need to act on, changes that take effect on a date and anything else that sets a date. it never reads promotions, social or forum emails. each email is read once to find tasks. it keeps a short excerpt (up to 200 characters, with links and long numbers such as account and card numbers removed; for bills, a summary such as "$120 due friday 20 november"), the date, the sender's name and the email's message id so you can open it again. for appointments with a doctor, dentist or other health provider, it keeps only "appointment" and the time, never the provider's name or the email's words. it never keeps whole emails or attachments, never sends email and never changes your mailbox. links in school emails can open your school account, so they're never stored.
ink. today's use of information received from google apis adheres to the google api services user data policy, including the limited use requirements. your data is not sold, not used for advertising and not used to train ai models. people at ink. interactive don't read it, except to fix a problem you report, with your permission.
google calendar and google tasks, if you connect them.
calendar is read-only. ink. today looks at the next 14 days of the calendars you show in google calendar and keeps only events that ask you to bring, wear, pay or sign something: the title, time, calendar name and a short note.
tasks: ink. today reads your open tasks, and those finished in the last 7 days, and ticks them off when you splash them done here, and the other way round. it never creates or deletes your google tasks.
your forwarding address.
emails you forward to your private address are read once to find tasks, then discarded, as with gmail. if gmail sends a forwarding confirmation code to the address, ink. today shows it for two days so you can finish setting up the filter. anyone who knows the address can send to it, so keep it private, and make a new one in settings if you need to.
cookies and this device.
one cookie keeps you signed in, or opens your list if you haven't signed in. your settings (paper, strike length, haptics, reduce motion) stay in this browser. there are no advertising cookies.
analytics.
we count visits and what's used, such as a task added or splashed out, in our own matomo on inkinteractive.com.au. it gets the page address with any campaign tags (utm) and nothing else after the "?", and plain event names like "task done". never a task, an email, your name or your email address. no google analytics, advertising tags or session recording run in ink. today.
where it lives and how long.
on ink. interactive's server in australia. done and dismissed tasks are deleted after 30 days. an ai model can be switched on to read emails the rules don't understand; it is off, and this page will name the provider before it's used.
your control.
disconnect google in settings and ink. today revokes its google permission straight away; tasks you already have stay until you delete them. delete your account (or your list, if you haven't signed in) in settings and every task and record goes at once. you can also remove access from your google account's security page.
